The kids from Rafiki Children Center attended a Christmas party, hosted by Catherine Gatheru and her team at the International School of Kenya. The kids
were very grateful and appreciate for all the unconditional love and gifts they received. Please remember the kids at this time of Christmas and use the donation button on this site to donate online. We shall for ever be grateful to all those that have extended their hand of support for the last 17 years since Rafiki was birthed. All the honor and glory belongs to God. Shalom.

Rafiki kids attend Christmas party
End of year educational trip
Rafiki Academy pupils and teachers took an end of year field trip to the game park in Nyahururu. Thanks to Rafiki drivers Ndungu and Kairie for their careful driving. John Kiarie is one of the Rafiki beneficiaries. The kids look forward to this trip every year. Thanks Rafiki sponsors and parents of the community kids for making this happen. Thank God we did not have to rent a bus, the Lord has provided using Friends of Rafiki in the USA. Join us in prayers as we trust God for another larger bus. The Academy continues to grow and with excellent academic results from 2015 pupils, we anticipate more students coming this year.
8th Annual Walkathon
On August 3, 2013, the Rafiki children took to the streets for the Rafiki AIDS Ministry 8th Annual Walkathon. They were joined by visitors from the United States (including Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania), the Rotary Club of Kikuyu, and many other surrounding community organizations and supporters. Despite the cold and rain, so many people turned out to raise funds for this most worthy cause. Bishop Nathan and other pastors did a great job of leading the dedications and all the prayers of thanksgiving. Three hundred ninety (390) trees were planted on that day.
Community Support: Walkathon
One measure of a really successful and sustainable project is the level of local community support. There was no doubt about that support as we witnessed when the Walkathon took place on Saturday morning. A march from the Wida motel, through the town of Nderi, to the Rafiki campus was a magnificent event. Led by the Salvation Army band, and preceded by warm ups for the crowd by a local fitness guru, the march ended with a Harambe which raised over $10,000 for Rafiki. The Nairobi North Rotary Club, our steadfast supporters in this effort, and President Evans was present and leading on Saturday as he was on Friday.
